BCCI Names Suryakumar Yadav T20I Captain: On Thursday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India, or BCCI's confirmation was announced for passing the captaincy baton at the Indian camp as star batter Suryakumar Yadav succeeded Rohit Sharma in becoming the new T20I captain.
Rohit Sharma, from led India to a T20 World Cup win, now returns in ODIs for the series against Sri Lanka, along with Virat Kohli, as he is also making his comeback in the fifty-over format.

The previous captain of the T20I team was Suryakumar during the away series against South Africa in the meantime when Rohit Sharma was unavailable for selection following a gruelling ODI World Cup.
During the T20 World Cup, Hardik Pandya was the vice-captain when it was also named as the T20I team.
It had been reported widely that, due to fitness-related concerns, Hardik wasn't in the captaincy plans. Jasprit Bumrah, the side's leading fast bowler, has been rested for the tour. The Indian vice-captain was named for Subham Gill in both T20Is and ODIs for the Sri Lanka series. The second-string Indian side being superior to Zimbabwe 4-1 in the five-match series with Gill at the wheel.
Gill's deputy in the Zimbabwe series was Sanju Samson, a power hitter, he has also been added for the Sri Lanka tour to the white-ball squad.

Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, all-rounder Shivam Dube, Rinku Singh, and Riyan Parag keep their possessions for the Sri Lanka T20I series. Though Ruturaj Gaikwad and Abhishek Sharma, who have given their best performances against Zimbabwe, weren't named in the T20Is.
It was not planned that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli would be part of the ODI series against Sri Lanka, but on Thursday, it was reported that the duo would come back.

ODI Squad: Virat Kohli, KL Rahul (WK), Rohit Sharma (C), Ꮪhubman Gill (VC), Khaleel Ahmed, Harshit Rana, Mohd. Siraj, Washington Sundar, Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Dube, Mohd. Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Riyan Parag, and Axar Patel.
