AstraZeneca Acknowledges Rare Blood Clot Risk of Covid Vaccine: AstraZeneca has admitted that its Covid-19 vaccine may cause Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (TTS), according to The Telegraph.

An AstraZeneca lawsuit alleging the vaccine caused deaths and severe harm to those who received it has been filed against the company, which collaborated with the University of Oxford to create the vaccine.

As a result of a class action lawsuit filed by families alleging vaccine harm, this development has emerged.

Vaccine-related health complications, including death, have prompted legal proceedings.

According to lawyers representing numerous claimants, some cases could result in compensation payouts totaling 20 million pounds.

The infrequent complication of vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT) has been recognized as a possible side effect of vaccination.

AstraZeneca's acknowledgment sets the stage for individual settlements.

This is the first time the company has admitted in court that its vaccine can cause this condition.

The Cambridge-based company acknowledged to a UK court in February that its vaccine "can, in very rare cases, cause TTS." TTS stands for thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome.

Blood clots form along with a reduced platelet count, which is essential for blood clotting.

According to Kate, the admission took three years, and their family and other affected families should receive an apology and fair compensation.

According to the report, 51 cases have been filed in the High Court, with affected individuals and their families seeking compensation of around £100 million.

In contrast to its previous statements, this represents a significant shift in its legal position.

Due to AstraZeneca's previous indemnity agreement with the government during the Covid crisis, compensation payments could fall on UK taxpayers.

The pharmaceutical company was shielded from legal liability in this agreement while vaccine production was accelerated.

As a result of the recent development, AstraZeneca's revenues in the first quarter of 2024 exceeded 10 billion pounds.

In reaffirming its commitment to patient safety, AstraZeneca expressed sympathy for those affected by adverse reactions to its vaccine.

A company representative emphasized the rigorous safety standards set by regulatory authorities and reaffirmed the vaccine's overall safety profile.
