Assam HSLC Result 2025: Jorhat’s Amishi Saikia Tops with 591 Marks; Sivasagar Leads Districts with 85.55% Pass Rate

It is concerning that the pass percentage among Scheduled Castes (58.56%) and Tea Garden communities (51.89%)remains below the state average of 63.98% in HSLC 2025. In 2025–26, the Education Department will prioritise focused interventions in these two social sectors to bridge the learning gap and promote inclusive educational growth.

Assam HSLC Result 2025: Jorhat’s Amishi Saikia Tops with 591 Marks; Sivasagar Leads Districts with 85.55% Pass Rate

Justice Sanjay Kumar Singh: It is concerning that the pass percentage among Scheduled Castes (58.56%) and Tea Garden communities (51.89%)remains below the state average of 63.98% in HSLC 2025. In 2025–26, the Education Department will prioritise focused interventions in these two social sectors to bridge the learning gap and promote inclusive educational growth.

Amishi Saikia bags the top rank in Assam board Class 10 matric result by scoring 591 (98.50%) out of 600. Saptarswa Bordoloi and Anirban Borgohain have obtained the second and third ranks respectively, They have scored 590 (98.33%) and 589 (98.17%) marks respectively. Rank 1 and rank 3 are from Jorhat’s Pragya Academy Senior Secondary School and rank 2 is from Kamrup (M) district’s Assam Jatiya Bidyalay, Noonmati.

Around 4,29,449 candidates registered for the Class 10 HSLC exam. Of these, around 4,22,737 students appeared for the exam. The pass percentage registered was 63.98 per cent. Nearly 6,712 students were absent in the Assam Class 10th exam. The results of 22 candidates has been withheld while 101 students were expelled.

Sivasagar has emerged as the best performing district in the Class 10 HSLC results. The regions has secured an overall pass percentage of 85.55 per cent. Dibrugarh with 81.10 per cent is the second best performing region, Dhemaji with 80.64 per cent is the third best performing region. With 79.61 per cent Jorhat ranks fourth and Nalbari ranks fifth with 78.40 per cent.

The announcement for the release of results was made by Ranoj Pegu, Cabinet Minister for Higher Education, Tribal Affairs, Government of Assam on social media platform X.

A review of HSLC results over the past five years reveals a fluctuating trend in the overall pass percentage. The highest performance recorded in 2021, with a remarkable 93.1% pass rate, when 3,97,132 out of 4,26,553 students passed. However, the following year saw a significant drop to 56.4% in 2022, with only 2,29,131 students clearing the exam. In 2023, performance rebounded to 72.6%, and further improved to 75.7% in 2024. This year, 2025, the pass percentage declined again to 63.98%, with 2,79,376 students passing out of 4,22,737 who appeared.
