KL Rahul’s ‘My Ground’ Celebration Ignites RCB Camp Talk as Tim David Mimics Gesture Post-Match
KL Rahul's celebration sparked conversations even in the rival camp, as Tim David mimicked the DC batter's gesture during a post-match chat with Faf du Plessis.

Delhi Capitals continued their trail of victories with a stern six-wicket handling of Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, but in fact, the point of chatter became KL Rahul's unusual display of emotion. The local superstar shackled the fourth straight victory for Delhi with a match-winning 93* off 53 balls, in a celebration that was nothing less than fiercer: thumping his chest and smashing the ground with his bat-a gesture screaming 'This is my ground'.
The innings themselves would have been a master's lesson in calculated aggression and calm under pressure. But post-match, scenes stole a greater part of the attention from fans. Rahul's celebration drew the attention of discussion even among the players as Australia and RCB batter Tim David was caught imitating Rahul in a session with DC's Faf du Plessis.

The two seemed to be talking about the moment of fire Rahul had, which definitely left its imprint beyond the boundary.

KL Rahul was inducted into Royal Challengers setup at two separate times: in 2013 and 2016, but the franchise let go of him. He then travelled to Punjab Kings, where he spent four seasons, and later became the captain of Lucknow Super Giants for three years. In 2024, his campaign with LSG saw Rahul's lowest point as the team didn't make it to the playoffs, and a public spat with franchise owner Sanjiv Goenka – after an embarrassing defeat to SRH – triggered a mass uproar on social media.
In this shape, the emotionally charged celebration of Rahul in Chinnaswamy could prove to be a release after a build-up over the years of mixed fortunes.

The right-handed batsman's innings featured seven fours and six sixes and came after Delhi had faltered early in their chase. When it was diminishing from 58/4, RCB detected the hint of a turnaround, but Rahul found support in Tristan Stubbs (38*), as the pair added 111 runs to wrest the game back from Bengaluru's grasp.
Rahul was forgiven early during his innings for a catch Rajat Patidar ran to collect when the batter was only on five. After that, there was no looking back for Rahul. He was patient against leg-spinner Suyash Sharma, although not scoring until the opportunities came, then pounced on the speed of Josh Hazlewood, smashing him for a straight six and getting 22 runs in a spell that turned the game.
Stubbs also showed the same composure, easily converting soft deliveries to the fence with the aid of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, while Delhi continued to pile the runs to a total of 169 for 4 in 17.5 overs.
This was RCB's second defeat at home in the ongoing season, while a roving performance has seen the franchise win all three of its away matches in this season.
