Anushka Sharma’s Reaction to Virat Kohli’s Early Dismissal: Definitely unbelievable for Anushka Sharma! She sat in the stands during the ICC Champions Trophy, watching in absolute disbelief as her husband, India's cricketing superstar Virat Kohli, was dismissed earlier than ever expected in his milestone 300th ODI against New Zealand.
Mouthing the words, “Oh my God!” as the moment unfolded, Anushka stood stupefied along with millions of fans. His elder brother, Vikas Kohli, watched in shock right next to her: The reason? A sensational catch by New Zealand's Glenn Phillips—one for the ages.

A Special Day Cut Short
Kohli stepped out with the hopes sky-high that this 300th game would be special. For a while, he looked like he would do just that when he splashed two classy boundaries off Matt Henry. And then came the disaster.
Kohli trying to hit a cracking shot was left at the mercy of Phillips, who perished like superman at point. Just like that, along came the hush over the stands as Virat stood frozen at the crease, apparently incredulous about what had just transpired.
A Legacy of Greatness
But early dismissal couldn't deny Kohli's record in ODIs. He has scored a whopping 14,096 runs with an average of 58.00 in 300 matches, with 51 centuries and 73 fifties. Just Kumar Sangakkara (14,234 runs) and the one and only Sachin Tendulkar (18,426 runs) have scored greater runs in ODI history. He also holds the record for the most centuries in ODIs, which goes on to prove his dominance in the format.

His Champions Trophy So Far
Before this match, Virat was in superb form at CT 2025. In just two matches, he had already scored 133 runs, with an average of 66.50. His unbeaten century against Pakistan had reminded the world why he remains one of the best in the business.
Sunday's game could go any which way, but history has shown that Kohli always bounces back. Following the score, the next innings may very well be the one where he flips the script once again.
