Anushka Sharma Hailed as Calming Influence: Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are a perfect couple, but their love story began on an awkward note. This cricketer-actor's fans would know that Anushka and Virat first met at a shoot for a commercial.

During a 2019 interview with American sports journalist Graham Bensinger, Virat spilled the beans about his first interaction with Anushka and accepted that it was full of awkwardness, and he was filled with nervous energy. Virat also shared a joke that he tried to crack missed the mark.

Virat accepted in the chat that during the commercial shoot, he was super anxious. He was also conscious of his height as he was told that Anushka might be taller than him. He had casually suggested that she should skip high heels for the shoot.

In a conversation with Filmygyan, Sonal was asked what she would say to Virat Kohli if she suddenly bumped into him. She said, “I would say, Jai Shri Ram and Har Har Mahadev, since he’s right now being very religious. I’ve seen a lot of his reels where he’s exploring that spiritual side of his."

She added, “I think it’s the right woman (Anushka Sharma). The right woman in his life brings out his spiritual side. When you’re surrounded by the right people, positive people, it reflects on your personality. I think she has a calming effect on his life."

For the unversed, one of the most adorable Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, got married in December 2017 in Italy. The couple later gave birth to daughter Vamika in January 2021 and son Akaay in February 2024. The couple, along with kids, have now been shifted to London.

In a statement from years ago, Virat Kohli had said, “Do I look like the pooja-path types?” When Sonal was asked about his transformation from then to now, she expressed her belief that it was because of Anushka Sharma. Calling the NH10 actress the ‘right woman’ in Virat’s life, Sonal shared that Anushka was bringing out his spiritual side.

Sonal further stated that being around positive people had an influence on one’s personality. “I think she has a calming effect on his life,” she added.

Earlier in 2025, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s visuals from their visit to Premanand Ji Maharaj’s ashram in Vrindavan had gone viral on the internet. They were accompanied by their kids, Vamika Kohli and Akaay Kohli. The couple was seen bowing down to the spiritual leader with folded hands to seek his blessings. They have also attended kirtans by American vocalist Krishna Das many times in the past.
