‘Ye Sab Chhod Do’: Saif Ali Khan is among the finest actors in Bollywood and is admired for his charismatic personality and royal lineage. Known for his films like Race, Cocktail, Love Aaj Kal, Kal Ho Naa Ho, and more, he has made a special place in the hearts of fans who were shocked when a report about an attack on him made headlines on January 16, 2025.

Many fake and manipulated news stories about the incident went viral, but the couple remained quiet about what happened that night. Now, some inside details from the case have been revealed in its chargesheet documenting how events unfolded during that fateful night.

The intruder held their son Jeh captive in his room and demanded money. A violent confrontation followed, during which Saif was seriously injured in a hand-to-knife struggle. He had to undergo surgery for the deep wounds near his spine. The Mumbai Police have now concluded their investigation and filed a chargesheet, revealing key details about the shocking incident.

Kareena Kapoor's statement

Kareena, in her official police statement, revealed how she first saw Saif bleeding after the intruder stabbed him. "He had injuries on his back, neck, and hand. I immediately told him, 'forget everything, we need to go to the hospital,'" she said.

She also stated that she tried searching for the intruder inside the house but soon realised the property was no longer safe. She decided to evacuate with Saif, their sons Taimur and Jehangir, and household staff.

The intruder held a knife and Hexablade, and demanded money

Kareena recalled seeing the man—dressed in black clothes and a cap, approximately 5’5” in height—standing near their son with a knife and hexablade in hand. Nurse Eliyama Philip had already been injured. As Saif attempted to intervene, the intruder attacked him brutally.

What Happened During Attack On Saif

Kareena and Saif immediately rushed to their son Jeh’s room, where they saw a man in a black T-shirt standing near the child's bed. When Saif confronted the intruder, the man launched an attack on him. “I then yelled at Eliamma to take Jeh out of the bedroom," Kareena told the police. She then quickly made her way to the 12th floor with Jeh, Taimur and the nanny. Minutes later, Saif appeared there, injured and bleeding.

Why Didn't Kareena Take Saif To The Hospital?

Bebo further stated that her husband was searching for something to defend himself with, but she urged him to stop and get medical help right away. “Yeh sab chhod do, neeche chalo, hospital jaate hain (Leave all this, let’s go down and go to the hospital),” she reportedly told him.

More about the incident

The intruder, reportedly identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, allegedly broke into the home with the intent to rob and attacked both Saif and a staff member using a wooden weapon and a blade. He was arrested shortly after and remains in custody.
