Woman Loses INR 31.65 Lakhs in Online Task Scam; Cyber Fraud Case Registered
Incidences of cyber fraud have risen in the city, and police have appealed to the people not to fall prey to such scams.
Woman Loses INR 31.65 Lakhs in Online Task Scam: Never ever expect a soft-hearted cyber scammer that can just dip his hands in their pockets and put any amount of money into theirs. The victim was taken on a roller-coaster ride along placing positions of malicious assignments by way of online jobs worth ₹31.65 lakh. A case is registered with the Vimantal police against these cyber criminals, as said by the police department.

The wayward lady of Viman Nagar is said to have been contacted by the online fraudsters last June with a purported work opportunity. At first, the jobs were trivial and remunerated well, allowing her to feel comfortable with the arrangement. Once Jisha's confidence was won, they baited her with guarantees of higher returns through online task-based enterprises.

In her quest to earn, she transferred ₹31.65 lakhs to the crooks in several phases over several months. After money was transferred to them, there was no return from their end. One fine day, all her calls to them were disconnected.The woman realized she had been duped and filed a complaint with the police.
The current investigation is in the hands of Police Inspector Ashalata Khapre of the Crime Branch.
