Shimla Schools Receive Hoax Bomb Threat, Authorities on Alert

On Wednesday, the morning, three Shimla-based private schools received bomb threat messages on emails, prompting panic in students and parents, said police. Those threats later proved to be fake.
The police forces in Shimla went on a hurry to Edward School, Sacred Heart School, Dhalli and Saraswati Paradise School, Sanjauli with bomb squads after getting information about the threats.

When the news came by, panicking parents phoned-up school authorities to inquire about the whereabouts of their children and hurried to retrieve them.
The students were immediately escorted out and the campuses were searched adequately.
No suspicious object was however found, said a police official.
The identification of the IP address of the email sender is being worked upon. The official said that police are also liaising with police agencies of other states that had also received similar threats.

On Wednesday morning two schools in the Agra region of Uttar Pradesh also received bomb threat emails.
Recently, Himachal Pradesh high court, district court premises, offices of deputy commissioners and the state secretariat have got bomb threats but all of them proved to be hoax.
A case against unidentified people has been registered by the police and they are collaborating with the cyber cell to track the sender. The government has urged individuals to keep vigilant yet not listen to rumours.
