PM Modi: ‘The World Is Keenly Watching 21st-Century India’
India is not just a workforce; we are a world force, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the NXT Conclave at Bharat Mandapam on Saturday.
PM Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the NXT conclave at Bharat Mandapam on Saturday, saying that everything was being done in India-from semiconductors to aircraft carriers-and the world was observing 21st-century India closely.
“Few years ago, I presented the vision of ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Local for Global’ to the nation, and today, we are seeing this vision turn into reality. Indian products like AYUSH products, yoga, millets, and turmeric have gained global recognition,” Modi said, also mentioning that products such as snow peas from Pulwama and cricket bats from Kashmir are going international.

He discussed the growth of India and the increasing role of India on the global stage, underscoring that India is now "manufacturing everything from semiconductors to aircraft carriers."
"The world is keenly watching the 21st-century India," he added.
Modi took the audience back to a time when India was regarded as the world's 'back office' against the idea of a 'new factory of the world'.
"India is not just a workforce; we are a world force," he added, underscoring India's growing presence as an export hub with global recognition for its electronic products and medicines.
Furthering his argument about India's progress in infrastructure, Modi spoke about how improved road networks and expressways had boosted economic growth. He insisted that India's growth in automobile and electronics manufacturing came through systematic policies and good governance. “India’s leadership in various sectors is the result of years of hard work and systematic policy decisions,” he added.
On the question of governance, Modi expounded the axiom of "minimum government, maximum governance," which minimizes bureaucracy and facilitates processes. He pointed out that once a complicated task, filing an income-tax return is now a breeze. “Filing an ITR was a difficult task for an ordinary person, but today, it can be done in a few moments,” he said.

Talking about how India is steering innovation and technology, he mentioned the concept of "Indovation," which means innovating in an Indian way. He cited the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) system, which is now being adopted by other countries, as an illustration of India developing solutions that are both affordable and accessible.
He also mentioned India's contributions to space, exploration, and digital architecture.
Modi referred to the recently concluded Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, saying, “The world witnessed India’s organising and innovating skills. The gathering of millions of people at the Kumbh amazed the world, showcasing India’s capability to organize such a large-scale event.”
“India is moving forward with the resolve to become a developed nation in the next 25 years,” he concluded.
