Tesla to Launch First India Showroom at BKC Mumbai, Pays ₹35 Lakh Monthly Rent: Sources
Tesla secures showrooms in Mumbai and Delhi: sources say 3,000 sq ft space in BKC's Maker Maxity at ₹35 lakh, 4,000 sq ft in Aerocity at ₹25 lakh monthly rent.

Tesla to Launch First India Showroom at BKC Mumbai: Having finalized its showroom in Mumbai's Maker Maxity, a mixed-use development in the Bandra Kurla Complex, Tesla should pay ₹35 lakh in rent every month, sources said.
They say the car showroom area is about 3000 square feet, located on the ground floor of the commercial tower of Maker Maxity. The rent is about ₹35 lakh per month, and it has a few car parks, too.

BKC is the most expensive commercial hub in India.
Sources say it would perhaps be the highest showroom rental deal ever in the auto industry. HT.com does not have a copy of the agreement, and it will be updated with more details as and when they come through.
An email has been sent to Maker Maxity for confirmation.
Tesla's Delhi showroom space update
Sources said the Tesla showroom in Delhi will be around 4,000 sq. ft. and will attract a rent of around ₹25 lakh a month.
Tesla has already finalized the lease of another showroom space in Aerocity, located in a Brookfield property next to Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI).

HT.com does not have a copy of the agreement, and the story will be updated as more details emerge.
Brookfield Properties did not respond to HT.com’s query.
In April 2023, Bharti Enterprises Limited (BEL) transferred a 51% stake (held in Rostrum Realty) to Brookfield Group. In June 2024, Brookfield Group, through Brookfield India Real Estate Trust, acquired the residual stake of Bharti Enterprises Limited.
Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tesla CEO Elon Musk met in the United States and discussed topics including space, mobility, and technology.
According to sources mentioned in a Reuters report published earlier, Tesla had been searching for showroom spaces in India since late last year to commence sales in the world's third-largest auto market after having put a hold on market-entry plans in 2022.
Tesla last month advertised for 13 mid-level roles in India, including some store and customer relationship managers.
