PM Modi Criticizes Delhi, Bengal for Not Implementing Ayushman Bharat Due to ‘Political Interest’
PM Modi on Ayushman Bharat: As per the reports, a total of 4 crore Indian citizens have taken advantage of Ayushman Bharat scheme and have saved around Rs 1.25 lakh crore in medical bills.
PM Modi on Ayushman Bharat: The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has criticized the Delhi and West Bengal governments for not executing the Ayushman Bharat health insurance plan and added that the delays was because of “political interests.”
In a recent speech Modi said that he is upset that the senior citizen in Delhi and West Bengal can’t take advantage of this scheme which allow them to get free medical care.
Modi is very frustrated with this delay, apologizing to people of age 70 and up in Delhi and West Bengal and added that he couldn’t help them because of regional governments’ decisions.

The Prime Minister also expanded Ayushman Bharat available to all Indian citizens aged 70 and up, providing them free medical care a "Ayushman Vaya Vandana" card.
Modi said that he plans to reduce the expenses of medical care, especially for the old and poor citizens. As per the reports, a total of 4 crore Indian citizens have taken advantage of Ayushman Bharat scheme and have saved around Rs 1.25 lakh crore in medical bills.
Modi announced that these types of healthcare plans will make it easier to access medical care at cheap rates. These included the operation of more than 14,000 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras providing medicines discounts and lower prices for medical devices like stents and implants which saved citizens around Rs 1.1 lakh crore.
He also talked about the growth of Indian healthcare system which include the development of hospitals and medical colleges in several region. Modi also talked about the importance of AYUSH sector, announcing the Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyan to improve lifestyle design based on Ayurveda and boost exports of AYUSH products to more than 150 countries.
Modi concluded his speech by appealing for traditional Indian herbs via scientific studies. Thus, making India positioned as global leader in health and wellness.
He also talked about India's growth in e-healthcare with over 30 crore consultations through the e-Sanjeevani platform with the motive to make healthcare accessible to all.
