PM Modi Criticizes Congress Lok Sabha Poll Manifesto with 'Imprint of Muslim League' Remark
On Saturday, the Congress shot back at Narendra Modi for his comments that the party's manifesto was influenced by the Muslim League.
PM Modi Criticizes Congress Lok Sabha Poll Manifesto with Imprint of Muslim League: Many promises were made in the Congress manifesto, including a legal guarantee of MSP, national minimum wage at $400 per day, caste censuses throughout the country, and other measures.
As a result of the manifesto released yesterday by Congress, today's Congress is completely disconnected from Indian hopes and aspirations. Modi told a public meeting in Saharanpur, which is going to vote in the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections on April 19, that the same thinking is reflected in the Congress manifesto, as it was in the Muslim League during the freedom movement.
“The Congress manifesto completely bears the imprint of the Muslim League and whatever part of it is left is completely dominated by the leftists,” he added.
"The BJP government works without any discrimination. Our thinking is that government schemes should reach every section, every caste and everyone," the prime minister added.
PM Modi reiterated his attack on the Congress manifesto in Ajmer, calling it a 'bundle of lies' that called for "breaking India apart".
"The same thinking is reflected in the Congress manifesto as was in the Muslim League at the time of independence," he alleged.
Today Congress is left with neither principles nor policies. It seems as if Congress has outsourced the entire party to the Leftists," Modi said.

The attack comes a day after Congress released its manifesto for the general election, which emphasized the 'five pillars of justice': 'Yuva Nyay', 'Naari Nyay', 'Kisaan Nyay', 'Shramik Nyay', and 'Hissedari Nyay'.
Congress promised legal protection for the minimum support price (MSP), guarantees, a national minimum wage of $400 per day, reform of personal laws, and a caste census nationwide.
MSP will be directly credited to the farmer's bank account at the procurement centers and APMCs, the Congress said.
"Congress will formulate and implement a sound import-export policy for agricultural commodities, which will give paramount importance to protecting the interests and concerns of farmers," the grand old party said.
Jairam Ramesh, Congress general secretary, responded to the prime minister: "The prime minister does not know his history as Mookerjee, the Hindu Mahasabha's president at the time, was himself a member of the Muslim League-led coalition government in Bengal."
"It is not the Congress that practices divisive politics, it is the BJP that believes in and practices it," Ramesh said.
After releasing its manifesto focusing on five "pillars of justice" and 25 guarantees under them at Congress headquarters in the presence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and former party chiefs Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, the prime minister attacked the Congress.
As part of its Lok Sabha poll manifesto, the Congress promised apprenticeship rights, a legal guarantee of MSP, a
constitutional amendment to raise the reservation cap for SCs, STs and OBCs to 50 per cent, a nationwide caste census, and the scrapping of the Agnipath scheme.
