Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder: A new alarming unprecedented detail has come out in the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case. From police records, the accused, including his wife Sonam Raghuvanshi, tried to murder Raja three times previously, and were unsuccessful on each occasion.
Raja was allegedly murdered by his wife Sonam, and her lover Raj Kushwaha, who hired three professional killers. The crime was committed while Sonam and Raja were on their honeymoon in Meghalaya after their marriage.
“Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder was successful in the fourth attempt,” Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem told a press conference. Police said the first attempt to murder occurred in Guwahati, and two more attempts were made in Sohra, but each attempt was unsuccessful. They wanted to eliminate him in Nongriat but they did not find a place to dispose the body, they wanted to do it between Mawlakhiat and Weisawdong when Raja went to the washroom. But it didn’t fructify. They finally did it in Weisawdong,”
He also mentioned, “Sonam and Raja reached Guwahati to visit Kamakhya after marriage. The killers had already reached on 19 May. Their initial plan was to kill Raja in Guwahati, but Sonam had planned to go to Shillong and Sohra. Therefore, this plan was shelved.”
