Fraudulent Scheme Involving Hardik and Krunal Pandya: As part of his threat to the Pandya brothers, Vaibhav Pandya, the stepbrother of cricket brothers Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya, morphed photos and videos of them.
When one of them confronted Vaibhav over irregularities in their partnership firm, he allegedly threatened to tarnish their reputations.
The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai police arrested Vaibhav on April 8. On Friday, he was brought before the court and remanded to police custody until April 16.
According to the EOW, the Pandya brothers and Vaibhav established a polymer business firm in 2021, where Vaibhav handled the company's operations daily. EOW officials say Vaibhav violated the agreement by setting up his proprietorship firm in the same business (in some other person's name) and keeping the two brothers in the dark.
It is alleged that Vaibhav diverted money from the LLP (limited liability partnership) firm to his firm. Gradually, the profit of the partnership firm dropped.

Furthermore, Vaibhav allegedly fraudulently increased his profit percentage in the firm (from 20% to 33.4%) without informing the two brothers.
According to an EOW officer, Vaibhav allegedly forged the Pandya brothers' signatures on the firm's agreement as a result of this.
The EOW investigation revealed that Vaibhav threatened one of the brothers with dire consequences when confronted about the irregularities.
Asked about these irregularities by EOW, Vaibhav claimed a chartered accountant firm made a mistake when changing the supplementary agreement.
EOW will seek details from the chartered accountant company to verify his claims, a source said.
A police search of Vaibhav's house led to the seizure of his mobile phone, laptop, and iPad, which were sent to a forensic lab to be examined and the morphed content recovered.
