According to A. Prasad, scientist at IMD, Bengaluru, today's temperature was 37.6 degrees C, the third highest in the past 15 years.

The weather station at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) reached 38 degrees Celsius on March 5.
In the forecast, the city should receive rain on April 10 and 11. Although it is uncertain whether the showers will provide relief from the scorching heat, they will provide a small break from the rising temperatures.
Currently, the city is not under a heatwave alert, according to the Meteorological Department (IMD). A heatwave alert is issued only when temperatures are predicted to exceed 40 degrees Celsius. For Bangalore, however, the weather forecast hints at a much cooler range of 36 degrees or less in the coming days, despite several areas in Karnataka being on heatwave watch.
People are urged to stay indoors during the hottest time of the day, which begins at 12 pm and ends at 3 pm, as advised by the Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA). Drinking plenty of water and avoiding alcohol, tea, coffee, and fizzy drinks can cause dehydration, according to the state government. When going outside, people are advised to wear light-coloured, cotton clothing, sunglasses, umbrellas, or hats. The state government advised people to seek medical attention if they felt dizzy or unwell.
