Dubai-Jaipur Air India Express Flight Makes Emergency Landing Due to Bomb Threat, Third Incident in 24 Hours

Dubai-Jaipur Air India Express: Three Vistara flights that received bomb threats were hoaxes, one was diverted to Frankfurt as a precaution, says official.

This is the latest in a series of bomb threats to airlines on domestic and international routes. Most were on social media and all were hoaxes.

A Vistara spokesperson said three flights from Delhi received security threats on social media on Friday and as per protocol all authorities were informed. London, Paris and Hong Kong flights from Delhi received bomb threats which were hoaxes.

"Vistara flight UK17 operating from Delhi to London was diverted to Frankfurt as a precautionary measure. The aircraft landed at Frankfurt Airport safely, and we fully cooperated with the authorities to complete the necessary checks, following which the flight was cleared to conclude the journey," the spokesperson said.

The flight landed in London at 1140 pm on Friday. The airline also said flight UK21 from Delhi to Paris landed safely at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. The aircraft was taken to isolation bay for security checks and then cleared to fly.

UK161 from Delhi to Hong Kong landed safely at Hong Kong airport and all security procedures were followed. Akasa Air on Saturday morning said its flight QP 1366 from Bengaluru to Mumbai on Friday received a security alert before departure.

"Hence, as per safety and security procedures, all passengers had to be deplaned as the local authorities followed necessary procedures. We request your understanding as our team on ground did everything possible to reduce inconvenience," the airline said in a post on X.

A Dubai-Jaipur Air India Express flight made an emergency landing at Jaipur airport on Saturday morning due to bomb threat, which was later found to be a hoax. After the threat was informed to the authorities, an emergency was declared at the airport.

The flight with 189 passengers on board landed at 1.20 am. The plane was checked but nothing was found. In the last few days 40 flights of Indian carriers have received bomb threats which were all hoaxes.

Civil Aviation Ministry plans to put in place strict norms to prevent hoax bomb threats to airlines including putting the perpetrators in the no-fly list.
