Chennai YouTuber’s House Attacked, Dumped with Sewage Waste; Police Accused of Mishandling Case
In a complaint lodged at the Tamil Nadu's Capital city Chennai G-3 Kilpauk Police Station in October 2023, a 68-year-old woman who happens to be the mother of famous Youtuber and political activist "Savukku" Shankar alleged that a group of 20 people entered her home on Monday morning at about 9:45 am and physically assaulted her with filthy sexual abuses and vandalized her property with sewage and human feces.
Chennai YouTuber’s House Attacked: In a complaint lodged at the Tamil Nadu's Capital city Chennai G-3 Kilpauk Police Station in October 2023, a 68-year-old woman who happens to be the mother of famous Youtuber and political activist "Savukku" Shankar alleged that a group of 20 people entered her home on Monday morning at about 9:45 am and physically assaulted her with filthy sexual abuses and vandalized her property with sewage and human feces.
According to a press release from DGP, Kamala is the name of the woman who has been requesting the authorities to act harshly against the perpetrators.
According to police sources, Kamala, a resident of Dhamotharamoorthy Street in Kilpauk, arrived at G-3 Kilpauk Police Station on an alleged incident that took place on Monday morning at around 9:45 am, when some 20 persons came to her dwelling, abused her, and dumped sewage waste on her premises with the intent of causing damage to her property.

Abuse included the dumping of human feces, it said in the PTI report. The incident transpired in the wake of the YouTuber Savukku Shankar making allegations against the Greater Chennai Police and the Commissioner of Police for not properly investigating this case," says the DGP office release.
Savukku Shankar has made allegations about the mishandling of this very case by the Greater Chennai Police and the Commissioner of Police. In the wake of these allegations, both sought to have the investigation transferred to a different agency.
CCTV footage of the alleged incident was also released by Savukku Shankar.

The case-registered G-3 Kilpauk Police Station in C.S.R. No. 118/2025 is transferred to the CBCID for a thorough investigation as per the request.
“On 24.03.2025, Tmt. Kamala, 68, residing on Dhamotharamoorthy Street, Kilpauk, filed a complaint at G-3 Kilpauk Police Station, alleging that at approximately 09:45 hrs, around 20 individuals entered her home, verbally abused her, and vandalized her property with sewage waste. She requested that appropriate action be taken. Based on the complaint, G-3 Kilpauk P.S. registered C.S.R. No. 118/2025 and initiated an inquiry,” a statement from the DGP office read.
“Meanwhile, Suvukku Shankar, YouTuber and son of the petitioner, in an interview, made serious allegations against the Greater Chennai Police and the Commissioner of Police. In light of these concerns, the Commissioner of Police requested that the investigation be transferred to another agency. As per the request, the case has now been handed over to the CBCID for further investigation,” the release further noted.
Shankar, a YouTuber and the son of the complainant Kamala, is also a harsh critic of the ruling DMK in the state. This incident received condemnation from AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, BJP Tamil Nadu President K Annamalai, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi top leader Thol Thirumavalavan, MDMK chief Vaiko, and actor-politician Vijay-led Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam general secretary N Anand, who have demanded tough action against the assailants.
