CBI Gets Court Approval for Polygraph Test on Ex-Principal and 4 Others in Kolkata Rape-Murder Probe

On Thursday CBI decided to do a polygraph test on the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital rape accused and former principal. But there was a problem no lawyer wanted to defend the accused case for obvious reasons and because of a peculiar legal predicament that demands a lawyer for the process and the CBI is conscious of the rights of the accused.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) got permission from the court to conduct the test on the accused and four other medical professionals who were the victim's colleagues were present with her on the night of the crime and were the last people who saw her alive as they had dinner.

CBI has confirmed that the tests were conducted on 5 individuals to determine the credibility of the statements given by them. The CBI has its own doubts about the statement given by the accused and the former principal as if they are holding information back. was the reason they chose to appeal for the lie detector test.

A lie detector machine can track the inaccuracies in a statement given by the subject as it can detect the psychological responses heart rate, breathing patterns, sweating, and blood pressure monitored by the investigator who determines the authenticity of the statement.

The investigation has taken this much of a serious turn as the whole nation is angry about the rape and murder case of the trainee doctor. An on-duty Doctor was raped and murdered and the hospital authorities said that she has committed suicide to her parents and was not letting them see her dead body for hours.

The incident caught fire as an on-duty doctor was the victim of such a heinous crime this raised concern if a doctor who was working for 16 hours is not safe in a workplace then who is?

The incompetency of the West Bengal Government and the Kolkata police was another reason the case was snatched from them and transferred to CBI.
