BJP Latest Candidate List 2024: Varun Gandhi and Ashwini Choubey Dropped from Pilibhit and Union Minister Positions
BJP's Latest Candidate List 2024: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) put out its fifth list of 111 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. The list included current and past union ministers, new faces, and people who had switched sides.
On the list are Kangana Ranaut, Naveen Jindal (businessman and former Congress MP), Abhijit Gangopadhyay (former judge of the Calcutta High Court), and Jindal.
Jian Jindal will start from Kurukshetra in Haryana, Ranaut will start from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, and Abhijit Gangopadhyay will start from Tamluk in West Bengal.
The elections for the Lok Sabha in 2024 start on April 19. The results will be made public on June 4.
Varun Gandhi, UM Ashwini Choubey, MP Anantkumar Hegde, Dharmendra Pradhan, UM Bisweshwar Tudu, Arun Govil and many other got dropped
Sita Soren, sister-in-law of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and former JMM MLA, is also on the list.
The saffron party has taken off 37 current members of parliament, two of whom are union ministers, from the fifth list.
In 2024, Jitin Prasada, a former leader of the Congress Party, will run for the Pilibhit seat in Uttar Pradesh. He will be replacing Varun, who had held the seat twice.
Pilibhit and seven other seats in Uttar Pradesh will be voted on in the first round of the Lok Sabha 2024 elections on April 19. The nomination process for the election began on March 20.
The party's fifth list had 17 candidates from Bihar. Two former Union Ministers from Patna Sahib and Saran, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Rajiv Pratap Rudy, were on the list.
In Sasaram, Shivesh Ram has taken over for MP Chhedi Paswan, and in Muzaffarpur, Raj Bhushan Nishad (Chaudhary) has taken over for MP Ajay Nishad.
Vishweshwar Hegde Kaggeri, who was Speaker of the Karnataka Assembly and has been an MP five times from Uttara Kannada, has taken over for Hegde.
In Odisha, the BJP has dropped at least four current MPs and put forward five new candidates.
Odisha has lost four serving MPs. Union Minister Bisweshwar Tudu from Mayurbhaj, Suresh Pujari from Bargarh, Nitish Gang Deb from Sambalpur, and Basant Panda from Kalahandi are the ones who have been kicked out.
Bisweshwar Tudu has been replaced in Mayurbhaj by Naba Charan Majhi, an MLA from Rairangpur. Nitish Gang Deb has been replaced in Sambalpur by Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister for Education. Pradeep Purohit has been hired to fill the seat in Bargarh, and Malvika Keshari Deo has been hired to fill the seat in Kalahandi.
The government of Akhilesh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh has replaced Union Minister and MP Gen (retd) V K Singh with Atul Garg, who is an MLA and minister from the area. Singh dropped out of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 later that day. He had won the Ghaziabad seat twice before, in 2014 and 2019.
It has also taken the place of the experienced lawmaker SS Ahulwalia in Bardhaman-Durgapur. It has put up Dilip Ghosh, a former member of its state unit, to run for this West Bengal seat. Ghosh officially speaks for Medinipur. Paul is a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly at the moment. Agnimitra Paul, a fashion designer who now runs for office, was nominated by the party from Medinipur.
The actor Arun Govil, who played Ramayana, was one of 13 names from Uttar Pradesh on the fifth list. The spot in the Lok Sabha for Meerut has been held by Rajendra Agrawal since 2009. Govil will run against him.
