Amit Shah Takes Aim at Sam Pitroda Inheritance Tax Remark, Says 'Congress Exposed'

Amit Shah Takes Aim at Sam Pitroda Inheritance Tax Remark: Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, said on Tuesday that the Congress has been exposed after Chairman of Indian Overseas Congress Sam Pitroda advocated an inheritance tax-like law.

Speaking to ANI, Amit Shah said "After Sam Pitroda's remark, the Congress party is completely exposed. First of all, mention of 'survey' in their manifesto, Manmohan Singh's old statement which is Congress' legacy - that minorities have the first right over resources of the country, and now Sam Pitroda's remark citing the United States that there should be deliberations on the distribution of wealth... 55% of wealth goes to the government's property."

Amit Shah further said that Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and the entire Congress party are now on the back foot after PM Modi brought up this issue.

He noted that the statement made by Sam Pitroda today has revealed Congress' true intentions to the nation. They want to collect the private properties of the people, put them in government property, and distribute them according to UPA policies.

Additionally, the Home Minister demanded the Congress withdraw or accept that they intend to distribute wealth.

The Congress should either withdraw it from their manifesto or acknowledge that it is indeed their intention. Sam Pitroda's statement is now in the open, it should be taken into account.

Pitroda attempted to downplay the controversy by saying he had only cited inheritance tax in the US as an example.

Pitroda's comments have been officially disavowed by the Congress, who stated that they did not represent the views of the party at all times.
