PM Modi Cites Manmohan Singh Remark to Take Aim at Congress: Indian Opposition leaders have called Prime Minister Narendra Modi's election speech in Rajasthan's Banswara an attempt to divert attention from "real issues" because of his references to Muslims.
On Sunday, the Congress hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his comments about the "redistribution of wealth" targeting the party, saying after the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the party faced "disappointment".
As a result of Prime Minister Modi's suggestion that the Congress would redistribute wealth to Muslims, the opposition party attacked and cited former PM Manmohan Singh's remark that the minority community had first claim to country resources.
"This 'urban Naxal' mindset, mothers and sisters, they will not even leave your 'mangalsutra'. They can go to that level... The Congress manifesto says they will calculate the gold with mothers and sisters, get information about it and then distribute that property. They will distribute it to whom - Manmohan Singh's government had said Muslims have the first right on the country's assets," PM Modi said at the rally on Sunday.

According to Modi, the Congress plans to hand over people's hard-earned money and valuables to "infiltrators" and "those who have more children".
In a rebuke to Modi, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said no prime minister in India's history has lowered the dignity of the office as much as he has.
According to Kharge, Modi ji's speech today showed that INDIA was winning the first phase. It is a hate speech, but it is also a deliberate ploy to divert attention.

According to the prime minister, he followed the values of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh today.
He also said, "Lying for power, making false references to things and making false allegations against opponents is the specialty of the Sangh and the BJP's training."
According to Kharge, 140 crore citizens will no longer be deceived by such "lies".
Kharge further stated in a post in Hindi on X, "Our manifesto is for every Indian. It talks about equality for all. Talks about justice for all. The Nyaya Patra of Congress is based on the foundation of truth, but it seems that the chair of the dictator like Goebbels is now shaking."
Rahul Gandhi also said, "After the disappointment in the first phase of voting, the level of Narendra Modi's lies has fallen so much that out of fear, he now wants to divert the attention of the public from the issues. Trends have started coming regarding the immense support that Congress's 'Revolutionary Manifesto' is receiving."
