Home Minister Amit Shah took stock on Sunday at a review meeting with the region's chief ministers and DGPs of the implementation of three new Acts, BNS, BNSS, and BSA, across the northeast region.
Manipur, under President's Rule, was represented at the meeting by its Governor, Ajay Kumar Bhalla.
"Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShah is currently chairing a conference of Chief Ministers from the North Eastern States in Guwahati on the implementation of the new criminal laws," the Office of Assam CM said in a post on X.

Seven northeastern CMs are attending the meeting, while DGPs of five states - Nagaland, Tripura, Meghalaya, Assam, and Manipur - are present, excluding those from Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.
This conference is also attended by chief secretaries from several northeastern states.
Each one of the eight states will have to present before the union home minister with respect to the implementation of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam.
"The meeting has begun sometime back. It started with the opening remarks by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan after the arrival of Shah," an official told PTI.
According to another senior official, the conference is about reviewing the implementation and the present status of various new provisions related to police, prisons, courts, prosecution, and forensic measures in the Northeastern states.
Shah launched the' New Criminal Laws: Standard Operating Procedures and Rules', which has been prepared by the Assam CID with the help of the Assam government, after addressing the gathering, the official said.
"The final presentation will be made by Bureau of Police Research and Development Director General Rajeev Kumar Sharma. He will update the home minister and others on the status of implementation of the three new laws in the northeastern states," the official said.

There will be a general discussion after the presentations have been completed, he added.
"At the last, Shah will address the gathering on the three laws and how better those can be implemented. He will give his suggestions and feedback," the senior official said on condition of anonymity.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his counterparts Conrad K Sangma from Meghalaya, Neiphiu Rio from Nagaland, Pema Khandu from Arunachal Pradesh, Manik Saha from Tripura, Lalduhoma from Mizoram and Prem Singh Tamang from Sikkim are attending the meeting with other senior officials.
On the part of the Centre, many senior officials are attending apart from Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Kumar Deka.
