Ahmedabad Student Murder: Chats of Accused Go Viral, Police Probe Underway

Ahmedabad Student Murder: A 15 year old student of a private school in Ahmedabad was stabbed to death by his junior after an altercation on Tuesday. Parents and locals went on a rampage and vandalised the school on Wednesday.

The victim was attacked on Tuesday and was rushed to hospital. He died on Wednesday. The incident was a result of a minor scuffle between the two students which went out of hand.

A preliminary police investigation found a chat between the accused and his friend in which the boy confessed to the crime. The conversation also showed what made him attack his senior with a knife.

After the news broke out, protests erupted outside the Seventh Day Adventist School in Khokra. A violent mob vandalised the school premises and thrashed the staff, HT reported earlier.

There was huge outrage and protests outside the Seventh Day Adventist School in Ahmedabad’s Khokra where the incident happened. A violent mob vandalised the premises and beat up the school staff, HT reported earlier.

Friend: Bhai, did you do something today?

Accused: Yes.

Friend: Did you stab someone?

Accused: Who told you?

Friend: Please call for a minute.

Accused: No, no. I am with my brother. He doesn’t know what happened today.

Friend: He (the victim) has died.

The accused then asked how his friend came to know about the incident. The friend told him that he met a common acquaintance on the road who told him about it.

Accused: Tell him (the common friend) that I killed him. He knows me, tell him right now.

Friend: What actually happened?

Accused: Arrey, he (the victim) asked me, “Who are you and what will you do?” etc.

Friend: ***** You can’t stab someone to death for this. You could have just beaten him up, not killed him.

Accused: Whatever happened has happened now.

Friend: Take care of yourself. Go underground for some time. Delete these chats.

Accused: Ok.

“The accused was detained following the incident,” ANI quoted Joint Commissioner of Police Jaipal Singh Rathore on Wednesday.

The age of the deceased student was not clear though police and a PTI report said he was a Class 10 student thus 15 years old. The accused was a Class 9 student.

Netizens on X are raising serious questions on the accused’s misconduct and demanding strict action.

A parent told ANI that she had complained to the school authorities multiple times about the misconduct including boys using abusive language, making obscene gestures, molesting girls, carrying knives and phones and even watching porn in the computer room.

"For the past two years, such incidents have been coming to light. I have complained twice. Boys speak indecent language on the school bus,” ANI quoted her as saying.

She said the school administration dismisses such cases by calling parents, taking written apologies and letting the students off without any strict action.
