20 Die of Heart Attacks in Karnataka’s Hassan in 1 Month; CM Siddaramaiah Raises Possible COVID‑Vaccine Link

20 Die of Heart Attacks in Karnataka’s Hassan in 1 Month: Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah has issued an order following the alarming heart attack related deaths in Karnataka?s Hassan in state government offices on Tuesday, stated that it “cannot be denied that the hasty approval and distribution of the Covid vaccine to the public could also be a reason for these deaths”.
The Karnataka CM added that the state government had put this situation in a very serious note and set up a committee of experts headed by Dr. C N Ravindranath to investigate the cause of the deaths.

The panel mandate is to present its report in 10 days.
In the Hassan district of Karnataka, cases of heart attack based deaths have taken beak with 23 deaths being reported in the past 40 days, out of which four have already occurred on Sunday June 30 alone. The largest categories of the victims were those that were aged 19-45 years.
In a post on X, Karnataka CM make an announcement.
Siddaramaiah seconded that the language is similar to what was given to this same committee to look into the cause of sudden deaths of the young people across the state of Karnataka: whether it is due to Covid-19 vaccines or other health conditions consequent to other conditions.
Taking a swipe at the BJP, Siddaramaiah said:
“It cannot be denied that the hasty approval and distribution of the Covid vaccine to the public could also be a reason for these deaths, as several studies worldwide have recently indicated that COVID vaccines could be a cause for the increasing number of heart attacks. Before BJP criticize us on this matter, they should ask their conscience.”

On Yesterday, four deaths due to heart attacks have been recorded by the Karnataka.
In a report given by India Today, the four victims were:
- A 50-year-old female patient who fainted having experienced fatigue.
- In Karnataka, four persons died yesterday because of heart attacks.
- A 58year-old college lecturer who succumed to death in the middle of sipping tea,
- A 57 year old employee in the D types who died after being admitted to the hospital because of chest pains,
- A 63 years old man who has fallen due to chest pains.
India today reported a steep rise of 8 per cent in the footfall of patients in Bangalore-based Jayadeva Hospital in the recent two weeks due to this incidence of a sudden sharp spike in occurrence of heart attacks.
Majority of the patients in the hospital are of Hassan and neighbouring districts. Physicians state that people are also taking precautionary checkups and it is increasing, said the report.
According to the District Health and Family Welfare Department, there are 507 heart attack cases with deaths of 190 reported of the two years in Hassan. But the latest death rate of the younger people has given a high concern to the health officials.
