Airplane-sized Asteroid Heading Towards Earth at Tremendous Speed

Airplane-sized Asteroid Heading Towards Earth at Tremendous Speed: A commercial airplane, named 2024 FG3, sized asteroid heading towards Earth at 54,377 kph, is being closely monitored by NASA.
Apollo 2 comes within 1.94 million miles of Earth on April 2nd, which might sound far, but in astronomical terms is pretty close.
Asteroids like 2024 FG3 are tracked by NASA's NEO Surveyor and NEOWISE missions, Pan-STARRS, and Catalina Sky Survey.
NEO Observations Program includes planetary radar initiatives, like Goldstone Solar System Radar Group at JPL.
There's a lot of monitoring that NASA and other space agencies do to make sure we don't get hurt by space rocks. We might be smitten by the sight of an airplane-sized asteroid racing through space, but experts are keeping a close eye on us.
Asteroid 2024 FG3 is pretty to look at if you have a telescope. NASA says it's not a threat.
As a reminder of the incredible, but sometimes nerve-wracking, wonders of our universe, enjoy the show.
According to NASA, there's no need to panic about an asteroid passing by so fast.
The space agency says 2024 FG3 won't cause any harm to Earth. It also hasn't been classified as a potentially hazardous object.
