‘30 Days or Jail’: Trump Administration Warns Foreign Nationals Over Self-Deportation
The homeland security asked foreign nationals without the clearance from the authorities for staying to self-deport.

‘30 Days or Jail’: Foreign foreigners in the US will suffer serious penalties, including heavy fines and imprisonment, by the US government if found staying in the country for more than thirty days without registering.
“Foreign nationals present in the US longer than 30 days must register with the federal government. Failure to comply is a crime punishable by fines and imprisonment," the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said on Saturday.

"POTUS Trump and Sec_Noem have a clear message to Illegal aliens: LEAVE NOW and self-deport," the department has posted on X, tagging President Trump's office and Krishi Noem, the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security," the post added.
Thus, in a post titled 'Message to Illegal Aliens,' the department of homeland security, asks the foreigner who overstays in the country without the permission of authorities to self-deport. It lists the benefits of doing this as well.
Who will be affected?
Though not going to have an immediate effect on holders of legal visas-such as those who hold H-1B work permits or student visa-this is aimed at tightening immigration enforcement.
These individuals will be affected:
H-1B visa holders who lost their jobs but remained in the country past their grace period.
International students must maintain strict compliance with the terms of their visa or be counted as unlawfully present.

What then, for non-compliance with this, by foreign nationals, with the warning as issued by the Trump administration?
The Department of Homeland Security's proclamation outlines serious penalties for those who overstay or fail to register with the government after 30 days. Such penalties may include:
$998 per day fine for staying after receipt of final order of removal.
$1,000 to $5,000 fines for those self-declaring intent to leave but fails to self-deport.
Possible jail term for those failing self deportation.
Fine imposed will usually be partnered with lifetime ban from any future legal immigration to the United States.
As per to DHS above: 'self deportation is safe', then listed the benefits:
According to DHS:
Self-deportation cuts down on the cost of one's airline ticket for departure and is a great opportunity for having a clean slate with no criminal record.
A person self-deporting can retain income earned during the period stayed if he or she self-deports and has not come under federal criminal charges.
In some cases, those unable to pay for travel might even be entitled to subsidized return flights.
Of most importance, however, is that self-deportation allows an open door for future legal immigration.
The notice from DHS comes amid a ruling from a US district judge approving the Donald Trump administration to go ahead with a requirement that all people immigrating illegally into the United States must register with the federal government and carry documentation.
