Man Rejected from Job for Arriving 25 Minutes Early to Interview — Sparks Debate on Punctuality
Arriving 25 minutes ahead of time for an interview resulted in rejection because the employer considered it an indication of poor time management.

Man Rejected from Job for Arriving 25 Minutes Early to Interview: Being late for an interview can cost you an opportunity, but one applicant learned the hard way that showing up too early could be wielded against you too. He was supposedly rejected for showing up at the venue 25 minutes prior to the scheduled interview.
The post gained popularity, and Prewett clarified the reason he considered it a "negative" about the candidate being present too much earlier.

"I had a candidate show up 25 minutes early to an interview for an office administrator position last week. That was a major deciding factor in why I didn't hire him. What are your thoughts on candidates showing up significantly early?" wrote Matthew Prewett, a cleaning service owner in Atlanta.
‘I felt rushed’
Prewett further said that the candidate was too early, as a "negative". "Showing up early is good. Showing up extremely early can suggest that someone is not good with time management or that they expect to be accomadated time wise. Overall, I felt that it demonstrated a lack of social awareness and a lack of proper time management as he was not coming from a great distance," he wrote.
Additionally, having a small office means he doesn't want the candidate to overhear his calls. He also mentioned that general etiquette associated with interviews says a candidate can come in five to fifteen minutes before an appointment.

The post stirred up quite a controversy on the internet; some people supported Prewett while the majority sided with the candidate. "Absolutely not. What a ridiculous assessment. Send him my way. I’ll hire him immediately," said one user.
"What if his only transportation was the bus or something where he didn't have control over what time he arrived? I would look at it as he did what he had to do to make sure he was on time," said another.
