Zepto CEO Aadit Palicha Regrets 2024 Work-Life Balance Post Amid Culture Backlash
Aadit Palicha thinks this refinement around work-life balance is 'that stupid' now.

In a conversation with Y Combinator's Garry Tan, Zepto CEO Aadit Palicha spoke widely about issues ranging from the company's work culture and his pitfalls in starting a business to the social media mini-controversy generated by his 2024 post on work-life balance.
A humorous take on work-life balance was posted by Aadit Palicha in December 2024. “I have nothing against work-life balance. In fact, I recommend it to all our competitors,” he wrote on X - and was immediately inundated with accusations of fostering a toxic work environment.

Regretting the post, Palicha has now called it a "stupid idea."
"Stupid idea"
Tan had queried Palicha about a post he had made on work-life balance, referring to an old tweet, during the Y Combinator podcast. “You once tweeted ‘nothing against work life balance. In fact I recommend it to all our competitors’,” Tan said.
To which Aadit Palicha interrupted him saying it was a “stupid idea.”

The co-founder and CEO went on to explain what work culture is like at the startup. “Join Zepto if you're really looking to do the best work of your life. This is the place that is going to get that out of you because it is a very execution focused culture,” he said.
He says it might not be everyone's cup of tea.
“You're accountable for real problem statements every day. You can actually become like the best version of yourself. And I think it's not for everybody right? That sort of mindset and thought process. But it is for the super ambitious and the super capable that really want to to get the best out of themselves,” said Palicha.
But it's not the case for more than 3,000 corporate employees. The guy running the business said it didn't seem like work to him.
