Zelensky’s Message After White House Showdown with Trump: ‘Important That No One Forgets…’
Ukrainian president Zelensky said international attention was needed to appreciate the efforts of Ukraine after the controversial meeting held with Trump.

Zelensky’s Message After White House Showdown with Trump: "It's very important," said the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, one day after the most fiery confrontation with the president of the United States, Donald Trump, over the issue that the plight of Ukraine should not be heard.
"It is very important for us that Ukraine is heard and that no one forgets about it, neither during the war nor after. It is important for people in Ukraine to know that they are not alone, that their interests are represented in every country, in every corner of the world," he said in a social media post alongside footage of a meeting with the Ukrainian community in Washington.

"Thank you for your support in this difficult time, for all your efforts for the sake of Ukraine and Ukrainians and for your help - not only diplomatic and financial, but also political and prayerful," he added.
Zelensky's eventful meeting with Trump
Zelensky had regarded Friday's Oval Office meeting with Trump and Vice President JD Vance as a stepping stone toward securing additional support for Ukraine's war effort against Russia. Instead, the meeting descended into finger-pointing and lowered relations between the country and its most important wartime ally down to new levels.

On Friday, Trump and Vance mercilessly scolded Zelensky about wars in Ukraine and charged that he has failed to be thankful for confronting Vance on the question of diplomacy with Russia's Vladimir Putin.
The row erupted inside the Oval Office and was broadcast live around the world. It resulted in scrapping the rest of Zelensky's visit to the White House and raised questions as to how much the US is going to back Ukraine in its defense against Russia's 2022 invasion.
The argument sparked a scramble among European leaders to show solidarity with Ukraine after Zelensky was ejected from the White House prematurely and without signing a minerals-sharing deal regarded as essential to a prospective American-brokered ceasefire.
