Yogi government's gift to the farmers of UP, 2100 government tubewells will be installed in 62 districts

The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has given a big gift to the farmers of the state. In the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday, the government has approved the decision to install 2100 government tubewells in 62 districts of the state. Due to this, on the one hand, farmers will get rid of the problem of irrigation due to less rain, and on the other hand, due to the installation of these tubewells, new employment opportunities will also be created for the laborers of the state.
UP government's Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said in a press conference held at Lok Bhavan that the government would spend Rs 841 crore 98 lakh 83 thousand on this project. With this, apart from general, backward, scheduled caste and tribe, marginal and small farmers of the state will get the benefit of irrigation facility. The Agriculture Minister said that one tube well would be able to irrigate 50 hectares of fields. At the same time, with this scheme, there will be an additional increase in the irrigation capacity of 1 lakh 5 thousand hectares of land.
This project started by the government will also create new employment opportunities for MNREGA workers. 21 lakh man-days will be created through the project at different block and panchayat level of the state. The work of remote sensing, drilling, development, construction of pump house, laying of 1.2 km underground PVC pipeline under delivery tank, header and water distribution system, construction of 10 outlets and electrification will be done on each tube well to be constructed under the project.
