Yogi Adityanath Slams Mamata Banerjee for Calling Rioters ‘Messengers of Peace’ Amid Murshidabad Violence
Yogi Adityanath also asserted that riots in Uttarpurday used to occur every 2-3 days prior to the coming of the BJP to power.

Yogi Adityanath Slams Mamata Banerjee for Calling Rioters: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has lashed out at West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, describing "her silence" on the violence that hit her state over the Waqf Act.
“Bengal is burning. The chief minister of the state is silent. She calls rioters 'messengers of peace.' But those who understand only force won't listen to words,” he was quoted by ANI as saying.

“In the name of secularism, they have given complete freedom to rioters to create unrest. The entire Murshidabad has been on fire for the last week, yet the government remains silent. Such anarchy must be brought under control,” he added.
Yogi Adityanath went on to criticize both Congress and the Samajwadi Party for their own silence in this regard.
"I thank the judiciary there for deploying central forces to ensure the safety of the minority Hindus in the area. The Congress is silent on the riots in Murshidabad. The Samajwadi Party is also quiet," he said.
Murshidabad violence
The violence erupted in Murshidabad district last week during protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act, killing three persons.
Many people fled to a nearby district called Malda, searching for safety and refuge. In Murshidabad, pictures indicated large groups burning down houses, shops, and property.
Clashes had also spread to Bhangar in South 24 Parganas on Monday after a demonstration against the Waqf law.
The Calcutta high court had ordered the deployment of Central forces to deal with violence. The West Bengal police arrested 150 people for the riots.
The police, however, claimed that the situation is under control and urged people not to believe any rumour that would further disturb public order.
Mamata Banerjee addressed her message on X and called for maintaining peace and violence.
She also added that the waqf law has been introduced by the Centre and not by Mamata's government.
The BJP then went on to claim that the Mamata government and Trinamool Congress are Muslim appeasers, allowing the Hindus to be thrown out from the district.
