Woman coach alleges sexual harassment against minister, lodges police complaint

The junior athletics coach, who has accused Haryana Sports Minister Sandeep Singh of sexual harassment, on Friday lodged a complaint with the police. The woman made the allegations against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Singh during a press conference held at the office of the opposition Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on Thursday. The minister, however, termed these allegations as baseless and demanded an independent probe. The lady coach appeared before the police today and lodged a written complaint against the BJP minister. The complainant told reporters, “I have given a complaint to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). The woman has also demanded to provide him security. A senior police officer has confirmed receipt of the complaint. Meanwhile, in Rohtak, former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has demanded a fair probe into the matter. Hooda was replying to questions about the allegations against the state minister.
The woman said that she would try to get an appointment with the Chief Minister of Haryana. She said, "I am the daughter of Haryana and the country and I hope that the government will give me time and listen to my plea."
