After winning the Uttar Pradesh Assembly with a majority, the Social Welfare Department has gathered to fulfill the promises of BJP's Sankalp Patra. The pension of the poor will be increased as soon as the new BJP government is formed in the state. In this, about one crore beneficiaries of old age, destitute women and handicapped pensioners are included.
The government will give them a pension of 1500 rupees per month instead of one thousand rupees. The government is expected to spend about Rs 18,000 crore every year on this. With this, instead of Rs 51 thousand, one lakh rupees will be spent in mass marriages of poor girls.
The BJP had promised to increase the pension of old age, disabled and destitute women to Rs 1500 if the government is formed in Uttar Pradesh. A few months before the elections in the state, the Yogi government had increased his pension from Rs 500 to Rs 1000 per month. Now if the new government is formed, the amount of pension will increase further. About one crore beneficiaries will get benefit from this decision of the government. Of these, 56 thousand old age, 11 lakh disabled people and more than 31 lakh destitute women are the beneficiaries of pension.
