The BJP won 48 out of 70 seats in the Delhi assembly elections and dethroned the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from power in the national capital.
The AAP, which had been in power in Delhi for more than a decade, managed to win only 22 seats in the assembly election, which was conducted on February 8 in which a very fierce competition was witnessed.
Several leaders of the AAP, including former CM Arvind Kejriwal, lost in their strongholds, while outgoing chief minister Atishi managed to save her seat.
The Congress, which ruled Delhi for 15 years (1998-2013), once again registered a zerowinning score, which will further decline.
