It can also be recalled that Routh was reportedly taken from New York Times from a construction worker in North Carolina Greensboro. He did not have any prior military experience, but he said he wanted to engage in an armed conflict in the past, armed conflict in Ukraine after Russia’s invasion in 2022.
In an X post, Routh declared his willingness to “fight and die” in Ukraine. “I AM WILLING TO FLY TO KRAKOW AND GO TO THE BORDER OF UKRAINE TO VOLUNTEER AND FIGHT AND DIE,” he wrote.
During his interview to Newsweek Romania back in March, he had claimed that he wanted to ‘fight’ for the Ukrainians when he first went to Ukraine. Once in the Kyiv, he assisted in enlistment of people to engage in the war.
“We need everyone here fighting… that’s why I’m in Kyiv so every project that I promote is about getting people here to support the Ukrainians,” he had said.

On Monday, Kyiv denied connections to the suspect that is believed to have attempted to assassinate Trump, only for it to be revealed that the suspect was a pro Ukraine militant who stated his intentions of recruiting international mercenaries to wage war in Ukraine.
Officials in Kiev denied they had anything to do with him, and accused Russia of using the connection for its own ends. The Kremlin on its part suggested that there was correlation between the assassination attempt and the support that the U. S offered Kyiv with “playing with fire has its consequent.”

This, however, was not the first time the actor was getting into trouble with the law. Again in 2002, after taking a fully automatic weapon plus other hazardous items with him, he locked himself inside a building at Greensboro and was hence arrested. He was accused of very serious crimes though the fate of the case is still unknown.
Routh’s son told Daily Mail that his father “hates Donald Trump like all reasonable people”. He also stated that his father is not a violent person and didn’t believe he owned a firearm. US President Joe Biden, in an official statement, commended the work of the Secret Service and their law enforcement partners for their “vigilance and their efforts to keep the former President and those around him safe”.
