As per few major reports, the Omnicron variant spreads way too much faster as compared to the other variants, and that may overburden the already exhausted healthcare system specially in the countries where good healthcare still remains a luxury.
In regards to India, Soumya Swaminathan said that, people must stay vigilant and follow all Covid protocols. If the Omnicron cases rise dramatically, the healthcare system will undergo immense strain. She added that the surge is going to be really fast and a lot of people might get sick.
