WhatsApp testing chat migration feature between Android and iOS devices
The timing for this new update has not been specified in the reports and it is still said to be in testing stage. When the feature does come out, it will be very helpful for users switching their devices from Android to iOS or vice versa.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp the instant messaging app has a new feature in its pipeline which will allow for WhatsApp users to migrate or transfer chat history between iOS and Android devices.
The website also posted a screenshot alongside the report, showing users that transferring chat history to an Android phone requires them to update their WhatsApp to the current version. The platform of WABetaInfo tests the instant messaging app’s features in beta and reports information about them.
WABetaInfo said, “When the user tries to link a device having a different operating system to his WhatsApp account, it’s always needed to update to the latest WhatsApp update available on the App Store or TestFlight, in order to avoid any compatibility error with the Android version.”
WhatsApp allows its users to back up their data to a third-party cloud storage app, Google Drive for Android and Apple iCloud for iOS, but it does not allow its users to migrate their chat history from one device to another device. This could all change soon with a new app update.
The timing for this new update has not been specified in the reports and it is still said to be in testing stage. When the feature does come out, it will be very helpful for users switching their devices from Android to iOS or vice versa.
It would also help with the ‘multi-device support’ feature that WhatsApp is ready to launch soon and make the update more efficient for its users. The ‘multi-device support’ feature will allow linking of multiple devices with same WhatsApp account and make use of WhatsApp Web without mobile phones coonected to the internet.
