WhatsApp end-to-end encrypted backups are turning out on both Android and iOS
A new feature of WhatsApp has been introduced.

WhatsApp has added end-to-end encryption to your cloud backups on both Android and iOS. WhatsApp has been end-to-end encrypted by default for the last five years, until now if you want to have backup your chats to Google Drive or iCloud, these backups would not be encrypted.
You can turn on end-to-end encryption for your backups. The way the WhatsApp owner Facebook told this in its declaration, it looks like it won’t be on by default but you will have to choose to enable it by going to Settings>Chats>Chat Backup>End-toend Encrypted Backup.
After doing this, you will have to either use a password of your wish or a 64 digit encryption key that only t=you will know. Once you set up this, WhatsApp nor Google or Apple will be able to read your backups without keys or passwords. Facebook points out WhatsApp is the only global messaging service to give such a level of security at such a scale.
