Welcome Police station in North East Delhi arrested four criminals in 48 hours

Working vigilantly, the Welcome Police Station in North East Delhi, under the ongoing ‘Operation–Ankush’ have shown remarkable efforts and arrested four criminals and robbers within 48 Hrs.

On January 25, 2022, a police team comprising Sub Inspector Dharambir, Head Constable Abishek and Constable Mukesh, while patrolling in the area, at around 03:00 PM received secret information. They immediately reached Shaitan Chowk, Ganda Nala road.

“On the instance of the informer, they noticed a person busy in dismantling of ‘e-rickshaw.’ He was apprehended by the police team. During a cursory search, one button actuated knife was recovered from his possession. On checking, the e-rickshaw was found to be stolen. A case was registered and an investigation was taken up,” Sanjay Kumar Sain, DCP, North-East Delhi, said.

During a course of investigation, his identity was established as Akeel from Sunder Nagri in Delhi. He confessed to his crime and disclosed his involvement in multiple cases. Further investigation of the case is in progress.

“In another case, on January 24, 2022, Irshad was injured with blade and robbed of Rs. 1500 by three assailants near Mauz Pur, Metro Station,” Sain said.

He added, “Accordingly, on his complaint, a case was registered and an investigation was taken up. On the basis of information provided by the complainant, the police team comprising Sub Inspector Dharambir, Sub Inspector Parshant and Constable Mukesh conducted a raid near Peeli Mitti Ground and arrested two persons at around 09:00 PM on January 25, 2022. Their identity was established as Nadim. During a cursory search the blade used in the commission of crime and Rs. 200/- of the robbed amount were recovered from their possession.”

During the course of investigation, they confessed to their crime and revealed about their third associate namely Salman. On further interrogation, it surfaced that Nadim @ Lamboo is a BC of the area. Sincere efforts are being made to arrest the third absconding person. Further investigation of the case is in progress.

Sain informed, “In the third case, on January 25, 2022, while patrolling in the area a police team comprising Assistant Sub Inspector Surender and Constable Devesh Rana received information regarding an auto lifter with stolen scooty.”

Accordingly, they trapped a person in front of Metro station Welcome, namely Amit Kumar who was riding on a Honda Activa, scooty, No. DL-5SBX-6260.

On checking, he could not provide any document related to the ownership of the Scooty. On further investigation, the scooty was found to be stolen.
