Weather Update: Fog in Delhi-NCR in May, rain completed 30 days quota in three days

The rains in Delhi in three days of May have fulfilled the quota for the entire month. Normally, there is 30.7 mm of rain in May, but so far (in three days only) 35.7 mm of rain has been received. The average rainfall was 14.8 mm on May 1, while 20.9 mm was recorded till 5.30 pm on Wednesday. Whether there will be any record of rain or not, it will be known only till Thursday because it is still raining. At the same time, due to rain, the temperature is also falling. The maximum temperature was recorded nine degrees below normal. A thick layer of fog enveloped parts of the national capital this morning. From the plains of North West India to the mountains, the weather is showing new colors everyday. Sometimes it rains, sometimes it starts snowing in the mountains. In the month of May, the mercury remains above 41 degrees, but it is not hot now, the ACs are off, and due to cold winds and falling mercury, one has to sleep covered with a sheet. The spell of rain since the beginning of May continued on Wednesday as well. The weather was open in the morning and there was strong sunshine, it did not seem that it would rain. But after 12 noon the weather changed. Temperature will rise after this week.

By one o'clock, it started raining heavily with strong winds in the areas. Hail also fell at many places. This period of rain continued till late evening. It rained intermittently in the areas and cold winds kept blowing. Due to this, the maximum temperature was nine notches below normal at 30.6 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was five notches below normal at 20.1 degrees Celsius. This week, the weather will remain almost like this while after that the temperature will start increasing.

The Deputy Director General of the Meteorological Department said this

Dr. Kuldeep Srivastava, Deputy Director General of the Meteorological Department, said that due to the Western Disturbance that came on May 1, it rained on Monday and Wednesday. In just three days, it has rained more than it rains during May. Whether the record of rain will be made or not, it can be told only on Thursday.

Rain will continue throughout the week

Right now another Western Disturbance is coming on Friday, but it will not be so effective. Due to this, there will be light rain at some places till Sunday. Light rain is expected in some areas on Thursday as well.
