The rise in temperature continues continuously in the states of North India. The heat is wreaking havoc in the capital Delhi as well, due to which people are facing scorching sun in March. At the same time, light rain has been predicted in some states of South India including Tamil Nadu. Presently a Western Disturbance is active as a Trough over Pakistan and adjoining North India.
A cyclonic circulation is persisting in the upper part of the air over Madhya Maharashtra. One anti-cyclone is present in the Arabian Sea. The wind direction is also turning south. Because of this some moisture has started coming from the Arabian Sea. With these three weather systems being active, there is little chance of increase in maximum temperature for two days now.
According to the Meteorological Department, southerly winds from Gujarat in southern Pakistan have engulfed the heat in southern and southwestern Rajasthan in recent days, apart from the fact that there were no active westerly disturbance which would have brought cold winds. This is why the temperature in the vicinity of Gurgaon registers above the norm. Due to the lack of rain in March this year, the heat dropped prematurely.
