In a farewell speech, the outgoing US President, Donald Trump has said that he fought a tough battle because that was what the people of the United States elected him to do.
Since he has been blocked by social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for allegedly inciting violence, he has posted a video on YouTube with his farewell address.
In the farewell note, he boasts about his achievements during his tenure as the US President. Trump says that whatever he did, he did in the interest of the country.
"Our agenda was not about right or left, it wasn't about Republican or Democrat, but about the good of a nation, and that means the whole nation," Trump said.
Though Trump has been accused of instigating violence by questioning the election results and accusing his opponents, he denounced the violence in his address and said that it cannot be tolerated as it is an attack on everything that his country cherishes as Americans.
On January 20, Trump will leave office and the newly elected president Joe Biden will take over as the next President of the United States of America.
Trump has been impeached for inciting violence through allegedly false and misleading narratives regarding the election results.
Many senior politicians from his own Republican Party have voted in favour of his impeachment.
He is the only US President in the country’s history who have been impeached twice. Earlier in 2019, he was impeached for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
Though he was cleared of the charges in the first impeachment. Many experts say that this is unlikely this time.
