‘We Could Have Done More’: Rajnath Singh’s Stern Warning to Pakistan After Operation Sindoor

‘We Could Have Done More’: India could have inflicted more damage while retaliating to Pakistan's terror attacks with 'Operation Sindoor', but it exercised restraint, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Thursday.

Addressing an event in the national capital. Singh said those residing in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) are India's own and one day, will surely return to the Indian mainstream.

Addressing the inaugural plenary of CII (Confederation of Indian Industry), Singh highlighted the success of the Make in India campaign, which proved to be important for both the security and prosperity of India during 'Operation Sindoor'.

"We have recalibrated our engagement and scope of dialogue with Pakistan. Now, whenever there will be talks, it will be only on terrorism and PoK," Singh declared. Emphasising India's enduring commitment to reunification, he added, "I believe that the people of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) are our own, part of our family. We are committed to the resolution of 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' and we have full faith that our brothers who are geographically and politically separated from us today, will also return to the mainstream of India someday or the other."

Defence minister used the platform to highlight India's evolving doctrine on cross-border terrorism, stating that Pakistan is now "paying a heavy price" for sponsoring terror.

"Running the business of terrorism is not cost-effective. Today, Pakistan has realised that it has to pay a heavy price for it. We have redesigned and redefined both India's strategy and response against terrorism," he said.

Referring to the recent military offensive, Operation Sindoor, Singh underlined how indigenous defence capabilities played a pivotal role. "In Operation Sindoor, the people of the whole country have seen, understood and felt the success of the Make in India campaign.

“The people of PoK are our own. They are part of our family,” Singh said. “We firmly believe that our brothers, who are today geographically and politically separated from us, will one day surely return to the Indian mainstream, with self-respect and of their own free will.”

He conveyed confidence that the emotional and cultural bond between the people of PoK and India remains strong despite decades of separation. “There are only a handful who have been misled. India has always believed in connecting hearts... the day is not far when our own PoK will return and declare: I am Indian, and I have come back.”
