TMC Leader Partha Chatterjee was relieved from all his ministerial duties after being accused of Money Laundering in the WBSSC Scam. Recently, a woman threw a slipper at Chatterjee at ESI hospital while he was coming out.
After the incident the woman herself told the media that her name was Subhra Ghadui, and she is a resident of Amtala in South 24 Parganas district. When asked what forced her to resort to this she told the media, "You don't know? He has laundered money from so many poor people, bought flats, and you are asking me why. He is being transported in an air-conditioned car. He should be dragged with a rope around his neck. I would have been happier if the slipper hit his head," she added.
Chatterjee and his female aide Arpita Mukherjee have been arrested by the ED in the state's much-discussed SSC teacher recruitment scam. The incident took place when an ED team took Chatterjee to the hospital for investigation. A woman present there got agitated on seeing Chatterjee and threw her slippers at him. In anger, the woman was shouting that these leaders are looting public money.
