Engine of Vistara flight failed, flight was returning from Bangkok to Delhi, all passengers safe
An audit of SpiceJet by the DGCA in September 2021 found that the spares suppliers were not being paid on a regular basis, leading to shortage of spares.
Vistara has issued a statement amid reports of engine failure. In a statement, a Vistara spokesperson said that our flight UK 122 (BKK-DEL) experienced a minor electrical fault on the parking bay after landing in Delhi. Keeping in mind the safety and comfort of the passengers, the aircraft has been towed.
This is not the first case of technical fault in the flights. Keeping these technical glitches in mind, the Controller General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has asked SpiceJet to respond by giving a notice to it. In the last 18 days, 8 similar incidents have been reported in different flights of SpiceJet.
On the DGCA notice, SpiceJet said, "We will respond within the stipulated time frame and are committed to ensure a safe operation for our passengers and crew. We are an IATA-IOSA certified airline. All our aircraft were delivered a month in advance. Audited by the regulator and found to be safe."
SpiceJet airline has been making losses for the last three years. SpiceJet, which provides cheap service, had a loss of Rs 316 crore in 2018-19, Rs 934 crore in 2019-2020 and Rs 998 crore in 2020-21.
The engine of a Vistara Airlines flight coming back to Delhi from Bangkok failed. All passengers on board the flight are safe. The landing took place on a single engine due to a fault in the flight.
