Virat should have got the benefit of apprehension, if Pujara fails again, he may be out of the team

Team India scored 221 runs for the loss of four wickets on the first day of the second test match against New Zealand. Opener Mayank Agarwal is unbeaten on 120 and wicketkeeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha is unbeaten on 25. Left arm spinner Ejaz Patel took all four wickets for the Kiwis. Veteran commentator Sushil Doshi said in his podcast that the first day can be considered India's name. The way the pitch is playing, it is going to add to the difficulties for New Zealand.

The convict praised Mayank Agarwal fiercely. He said that one of the good things that is happening in Indian cricket is that even if a player fails in a few matches, he still gets a chance. Mayank also got a chance through this series and he has grabbed it with both hands. He has a great appetite for runs. He specializes in converting 50 into 100. The kind of strokes he played inside out in the first day's game was really commendable.

Like the Kanpur Test, this time too the controversy over the umpiring continued. Indian captain Virat Kohli was termed LBW by the field umpire. It was not clear in the replays whether the ball hit the bat first or the pad. Doshi said that in such situations the benefit of apprehension should be given to the batsman. We can say that luck did not favor Virat.
