Virat Kohli’s Perth Century Praised by Australian PM: Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese hosted Indian cricketers at the Parliament House, Canberra, on Thursday, 28 November. PM Albanese extolled Kohli and Bumrah while poking fun at the Indian former captain for his dominance over Australia in recent years.
As Indian captain Rohit Sharma introduced PM Albanese to the players, the Australian leader took a moment to commend Jasprit Bumrah, describing his bowling action as one of the most unique he had ever seen. The Prime Minister then greeted Virat Kohli, congratulating him on his century in the Perth Test.

"Good time in Perth, as if we weren't suffering enough at that point," PM Albanese quipped to Virat Kohli.
The star batter responded with a grin, saying, "Always gotta add some spice to it."
Both Kohli and PM Albanese shared a laugh, with the latter drawing a playful connection to India's love for spice.

The Indian players arrived today at Canberra before a two-day practice match against the Prime Minister's XI at Manuka Oval on Saturday and Sunday. The match will be played with the pink-ball as India will get used to the conditions priming for the day-night Test in Adelaide beginning December 6.
India smashed Australia by 295 runs in the Perth Test, marking its biggest victory against its arch-rivals on Australian soil. Jasprit Bumrah led India in an injury absence of Rohit Sharma, who missed the Test series opener to be with his wife during the birth of their second child.
While India were bowled out for 150 in the first innings, captain Bumrah led the resurgence, taking five wickets himself, as India restricted Australia to 104.
In the second innings, India demolished the Australian bowling attack. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul amassed a 200-run partnership that deflated the Australian attack. Jaiswal scored 161 in his first Test on Australian soil.

Gladdy Virat, who had been going through an awful patch, then showed the more familiar self by making his 30th Test hundred. India now set a massive target of 534 for the hosts, which eventually slipped out of their reach.
Yet again, the sporting tall and lanky captain of India, Rohit Sharma, took a walk through the Parliament House on Thursday, capturing the ever-changing faces of the cricket-crazy nation.
"India and Australia. We go back a long way, whether it's sport, whether it is trade relations. Over the years, we have enjoyed coming to this part of the world, playing cricket, and enjoying a variety of the culture in the country. And obviously, Australia is one of the challenging, uh, players to come and play cricket because of the passion people have, the competitiveness that every player possesses. Which is why you know for us, it's always been a great challenge to come here and play cricket," Rohit Sharma said.
