Israeli Hostage Arbel Yehoud’s Release to Red Cross by Hamas: The Israeli Army announced that the Red Cross confirmed its receipt of seven hostages, two Israelis, including Arbel Yehoud, and five Thai nationals on Thursday. Their release is covered under the ceasefire that commenced on January 19, aimed at de-escalating the most fatal and destructive conflict yet between Israel and Hamas.
More than ten days of this fragile truce have been in place, allowing for hostilities to cease and for humanitarian aid deliveries to the densely populated coastal enclave to resume.

Some 33 Israeli hostages were expected to be released in return for nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners during the first six weeks of the truce. Israel states that Hamas has provided updates indicating that eight of those hostages were either killed in the attack on October 7, 2023, or died in Hamas' custody.
The 29-year-old Arbel Yehoud was among the Israelis released Thursday.
The footage shows the transfer of hostage Arbel Yehoud to the Red Cross by Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, as reported by The Times of Israel.

Yehoud was seen being escorted through a crowd of Palestinians and armed militants near the ruins of the former residence of Hamas' leader Yahya Sinwar.
She is visibly shaken as she and the gunmen push through the frenzied scene toward a waiting Red Cross vehicle.
Responding to the purported hostage release footage, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel urged mediators to ensure that "such threatening scenes do not happen again."
“I view with great severity the shocking scenes during the release of our hostages. This is further proof of the unimaginable cruelty of the Hamas terrorist organization. I demand that the mediators ensure that such threatening scenes do not occur again, and to guarantee the safety of our hostages. Whoever dares to harm our captives - his blood will be on his head,” Netanyahu posted on X.
