Vice President visits Tirumala temple, stresses need to protect Indian culture

M Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice President of India, along with his family members paid a visit to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. Naidu and members of his family offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara in Tirupati. Tirupati Devasthanam is among the most sacred religious temples in Andhra Pradesh in India.

The Secretariat of the Vice President of India tweeted from its Twitter handle @VPSecretariat, “The Vice President, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu today had darshan of Lord Venkateswara at #Tirumala along with his wife, Smt. Usha Naidu & other family members.”

“On this occasion, he called upon the people to preserve and promote Indian culture and our age old spiritual traditions,” it added.

In a press statement, the Vice President's Secretariat said, “Interacting with the media after offering prayers, Shri Naidu expressed happiness about his visit to the temple and said that he prayed for the peace and prosperity of the people of the nation. Suggesting that spirituality is nothing but the spirit of service, he said the darshan of Lord Venkateswara inspires him to do even more service to the people.”

“Shri Naidu added Indian culture and heritage espouses the universal values of unity, peace and social harmony and that everyone must strive to protect and preserve them. On the occasion, the Vice President commended the temple authorities in improving the ease of darshan for the devotees,” it added.
